Maximum effectiveness comes from sub-lingual (absorbed in the mouth) dosages where 50mg can give blood levels equal to a 250mg ingested oral dose.

Resveratrol (trans) is rapidly destroyed in stomach acid greatly reducing the absorbed dose.

Sub-lingual dosages dissolved in alcohol appear to be most effective, and a 50mg dose can be as little as 20 drops of distilled spirits (100 proof) with resveratrol dissolved.
